Have been in business as Insurance Brokers since 1971, and started as Michael G Priest & Company and later as Geoffery Osborne and Associates before eventually becoming Osbornes Insurances Oxford Ltd. As our name has changed so the company has evolved over the years with the changes in the Insurance Market and demands and expectations of its clients.
Osbornes now specialise in Commercial Business and High Value Household but still has time for all their personal clients and their needs.
We have two offices, being in Thame and Chipping Norton in Oxfordshire but our clients are based throughout the UK
The company's philosophy is, and always has been, that the client comes first and our responsibility is to them and not the insurers.
Bill Fletcher - Managing Director
Bill is one of the most experienced brokers in Oxfordshire and has been in broking for 34 years and prior to this worked for the Royal Insurance for 5 years in Oxford back in 1971 and then for some time at one of their London offices. At this time he qualified as an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute.
He started at Michael G Priest and Company as office manager and has seen it expand and grow into the present day business.
Now he is the Managing Director and has a vast knowledge in all areas of insurance but especially expert in Manufacturing, Construction, Hotels, Restaurants and large retail. Clients vary up to those with turnovers approaching £100 million.
Bill is aware of the problems of running a business and uses this practical knowledge to ensure his service often goes beyond the normal advice expected from a broker.
Mark Nicholl - Director
Mark began his Insurance career about 24 years ago as a commercial broker executive at International Broker AON. He later moved to the Avon (then part of the National Farmers Union) and spent 6 years as a Commercial Development Executive.
In 1995 he joined Osbornes as a Commercial Account Executive and five years later became a Director.
Mark is qualified as an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute. He has substantial portfolio of clients from Motor Trade to IT companies, Surveying and Construction Industries, Distribution, Professional Companies and his clients include those from nearly every business sector.
Jon Bourn - Senior Commercial Executive
Has been in the Insurance industry for 20 years and has a wide ranging knowledge.
Originally as an Engineering Insurance Underwriter at Allianz then moving into commercial broking in 1993 for a year. After this he returned to Engineering, specialising in industrial manufacturing risks before moving into Commercial Underwriting gaining knowledge and expertise with a wide portfolio of businesses.
Jon joined Osbornes in 2000 as a Senior Commercial Executive managing a broad spectrum of clients including Machinery and Engineering Companies, Food manufacturing, Wholesalers, Construction & Contracting and Professional & financial covers, as well as arranging a national scheme for hundreds of Bridge Clubs throughout England
Simon Bannard - Commercial Executive
Simon has been with Osbornes for three years and now is specializing in the small to medium clients such as public houses and restaurants. He is very proficient with Fleet insurance and Risk Management advice.
He deals with Property Owners and landlords of houses and commercial buildings, offices, shops and liability covers.
Apart from this he has an excellent knowledge of High Value properties for household covers. Prior to joining Osbornes he was at National High Street broker A-Plan for 5 years and is qualified to Cert Chartered Institute level.
George Morton - Personal Insurance Executive
George has been with Osbornes since he was 16 and four years later he has progressed to be our foremost adviser for all private motor insurance and household insurance in our Thame office.
He also handles Let Properties and Landlords covers as well as small liability policies and commercial vehicles.
Helen Ross - Insurance Executive
Helen became a member of Osbornes two years ago when they took over the business of Allen & Schofield in Chipping Norton.
She started at the North Oxfordshire brokerage in 2002 and now deals with all the clients from this area for private motor and household insurance. At the same time arranges Let Properties, Landlords covers, Commercial Packages and Liability insurances.
Helen has a keen awareness of clients needs and is able to give excellent informed advice
